Necator americanus, adults

The human hookworms, Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale, are most easily differentiated by their mouthparts: N. americanus has two cutting plates (arrow points to 1 of the 2 plates), while A. duodenale has 2 pairs of cutting teeth.

Necator and Ancylostoma, eggs

The eggs of the human hookworms, Necator duodenale and Ancylostoma braziliensis, are colorless, measure 65 to 70 micrometers long by 35 to 40 micrometers wide and have a characteristic thin shell and inner undifferentiated cell mass.
